About Me
James works with a wide variety of clients, helping them optimize their wealth and create a foundation for a secure financial future. With more than 15 years of experience, he has a knack for thinking about possibilities and risks his clients might not otherwise consider, and he helps them address these issues and opportunities through comprehensive financial planning. He spends much of his time meeting with clients and learning about them, their families, and their values, uncovering what’s important to them so he can help them align their resources accordingly. This is his favorite part of his work, partly because he loves people—but also because he knows that by understanding his clients on a deep level, he can give them a better understanding of where they are and what they need to do to create their version of a great life.
Planning Philosophy
James is a firm believer that financial planning should be considered from the client’s perspective; when he works with people, he plans as if he’s standing in their shoes. He spends ample time getting to know his clients so he can better see things from their perspective, that way he makes sure the steps they take are what is best for them in every situation. Because he genuinely cares about his clients’ outcomes, he is persistent throughout the planning process, working to simplify complex concepts and help them understand how each risk and opportunity could impact their future, so they are never held back because of a lack of information or understanding.

Fun Facts
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a doctor. My dad was an old-school, general practitioner and general surgeon. He did everything, including delivering babies. I used to go on rounds with him to see his patients when I was young. Wherever we would go, we’d run into his patients. I liked that he knew all these people in our community, and they loved him and trusted him.
What fictional character would you choose to spend the day with?
Either Albus Dumbledore or Jack Ryan.
What’s your favorite quote or saying?
My favorite Bible verse is always on my mind—Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”

About Me
With more than a decade of experience as an advisor, Stew’s objective is to help people make wise financial decisions. He meets with his clients regularly, continuously learning more about who they are, what they care about, and their purpose in life beyond money, so he can help them allocate their resources accordingly. This is his favorite aspect of being an advisor, the intersection between meaningful relationships and meaningful work. He loves the opportunity to be there for his clients and alleviate stress and confusion, and to be a go-to partner for all of their financial questions and concerns. He helps them better understand their options and opportunities and clearly articulate their desires for their wealth. Fun Facts
What book has most impacted your life?
After the Bible, I’d say In a Pit With a Lion on a Snowy Day by Mark Batterson.
What is your favorite childhood memory?
We grew up going to the Frio River every year during The Fourth of July. There were probably 7 to 10 families that went, and we’d stay in these cabins that, looking back, should probably be condemned, but it was paradise. We’d play games, cook out, and float the river every day.
What is one item you can’t live without?
A pen. I have one with me at all times, even when it’s totally unnecessary.

Fun Facts
Who makes you laugh?
My husband. And my dogs. And my brother, who I work with—the brother-sister dynamic at work is never boring!
How do you like to spend your time when you are not working?
I love making new recipes. Just the whole process. Combining different flavors and ingredients, mixing them up in different ways and proportions, all to have it come together as a meal served with fun conversations with friends and family – so fun. It’s not always a Michelin-star winner, but we have made some favorites over the years!
What are the top three items on your bucket list?
- “My Italian Summer”: I want to spend a summer traveling up and down Italy trying all the different food and wine varietals to really experience the flavors the different regions have to offer. I love the Italian mix of the culture, views, and food, and really want to immerse myself in it for a summer!
- See the Northern Lights: I think this is such a beautiful and natural phenomenon and I just have to get up north and see it for myself!
- Visit the Grand Canyon: There is a scene in the movie “The Bucket List” where they are at a specific part of the Grand Canyon where it is so clear that the stars go all the way to touch the horizon. It may just be good Hollywood editing, but I want to find a similar spot and just be in awe of our world!
